A replacement alternating pressure mattress system for people at high risk of pressure damage, built from 5in air cells over a self-inflating 2in sealed foam base. An air sensor and microcomputer regulator sense the pressure continuously and hold the interface pressure low, and the pump runs near silently, so sleep and circulation are left undisturbed.
